The working principle of the steam rotary dryer is conduction and convection, which equivalent to add in the internal thermal to traditional rotary dryer, it’s a combination dry with conduction heat transfer in steam pipe when we put the hot air into the rotary dryer.To study the steam rotary dryer on the basis of the preprocessor Gambit, solver and postprocessor Fluent, in this dissertation, it establishs the three-dimensional entity of fluid in the internal heating type steam rotary dryer, determines a reasonable region of calculation and boundary conditions and meshes for the entity model. Then the standard k-ε turbulence model is chosen to simulate the single-phase gas flow and the two-phase gas-solid flow in the rotary dryer. After the simulation, the velocity distribution, the pressure distribution, the temperature distribution and the water of materials distribution in export section can get.Analysis result of single-phase gas shows that the flow of gas in the steam rotary dryer is influenced by the rotary region, the distribution of the steam pipe affect the spread of the hot air in rotary dryer, Change the speed of the rotating rotary dryer, we can get that increasing the tangential velocity can make the distribution of hot air more uniform.Sludge are choiced to explore the flow pattern of two-phase gas-solid as the material, putting the hot air into rotary dryer while accessing steam to the steam pipe, conduction and convection is working together.After solve attach to convergence, analysis each diagram of solution, we can draw the development trend of the each parameter in the steam rotary dryer.First, material trajectory main influenced by flow of hot air and rotate of rotary dryer. Secondly, the diagram of temperature and velocity show that the main working region is form z=11.5meters to z=15meters. In this area, temperature and speed changes greatly, the evaporation process happens mainly in this area.Through the comparison in the case without steam into steam rotary dryer and add steam into steam rotary dryer, both the temperature field, velocity field and pressure field in different section, especially material moisture in the material mouth, outstanding steam pipes play a leading role in the drying process.
