With the development of economy,there are many heavy metal polluters inflow into the soil and pollute the environment,which endanger ecosystem and the health of human being.therefore,Study on the evaluation standard of heavy metals in the soil based on inhibition effect of ecosystem is worth studying.The correlation of heavy metals in the soil and the elongation of plant roots was analysed in this study by using present research results at home and abroad. According to the ecological toxicity characteristics of the elongation of plant roots, the inhibition effect on the elongation of plant roots was classified. According to quality requirements for heavy metals of different types of the soil, the amount of heavy metals in the soil was classified. Finally, the evaluation standard of heavy metals in the soil was established by using the inhibition ratio of the elongation of plant roots and compared with the existing evaluation standard.The correlation of heavy metals in the soil and the diversity of soil animal was analysed in this study by using present research results at home and abroad. Ecosystem is the whole system, including not only the organism, but also the physical factors which we call the environment. The soil is one part of the ecosystem. Heavy metals in the soil lead to the inhibition effect on the elongation of plant roots and the diversity of soil animal and the microbial quotient. The evaluation standard of heavy metals in the soil was established by using the inhibition ratio of the elongation of plant roots.
