In this thesis, Organic montmorillonite was prepared by ionexchanging between sodium montmorillonite and octadecyl trimethylammonium chloride (OTAC) firstly; Second, Preparation ofmontmorillonite modified acrylic emulsion used with the monomerpre-emulsion method and Semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerizationmethod. Saw more properties with some test methods; And the third,acrylic modified chlorinated polypropylene was prepared by solutionpolymerization method and tested its properties.Finally,blended themontmorillonite modified acrylic emulsion with acrylic modifiedchlorinated polypropylene and prepared some waterborne coating that canbe used on the surface of polypropylene plastic.This kind of waterbornecoating would have barrier property.(1) Prepared organic montmorillonite with OTAC and it was testedby SEM and XRD. Test results showed that the interlayer spacingincreasing from d0011.49nmto d0013.84nm. Interlayer spacingincreased definitely.(2) Using monomer pre-emulsion method and Semi-continuous seedemulsion polymerization method, Ambient self-crosslink montmorillonitemodified acrylic emulsion was prepared by adding functional monomerAAEM. Test results showed that the emulsion have a narrow particle sizedistribution. The particle size was about100~200nm. Some exfoliatedmontmorillonite layer inserted between two particles which was showedin the TEM picture.The Tg temperature of latex film increased6℃afteradding functional monomer (AAEM).Barrier property test resultsshowed that the permeability coefficient of oxygen to the latex film was1.46×10-10cm~3cm/(cm~2S Pa)and the permeability coefficient of watervapour was383.7g.cm/cm~2.s.Pa.(3) Preparation of acrylic modified chlorinated polypropylene usedresolution polymerization method and phase inversionmethod.Orthogonal test showed that BPO dosage was0.3%. Acrylicmonomer in the ratio of CPP was0.8. Time was4hours and temperaturewas95℃. Under these parameters, acrylic modified CPP emulsion showed good adhesion and grafting rate.In some father research aboutthese four parameters, the best polymerization parameters liked that BPOwas0.3%, Acrylic monomer in the ratio of CPP was0.8. Time was3.5hours and temperature was90℃. FT-IR showed the success of acrylicgrafted CPP. In1730cm-1, it showed a absorption peak of C O. DSCtest result showed the increase of temperature that it was about6℃.Emulsion particle size was about300nm. It had a narrow particledistribution.(4) Designed the formula of polypropylene plastic coating andprepared it.Test results indicated that transmittance of this coatingmodified polypropylene plastic film was90.5and haze was6.30.It had alittle decrease to the polypropylene plastic film.On the other side, thebarrier property had a good improvement.Oxygen transmission rate andwater vapour transmission rate were2.6×10-15cm~3cm/cm~2s Paand172.2g cm/cm~2s Pa.
