With the development of advanced mining technology and the enlargement of mining scale of coal, the safety control of coal should be further improve, so it must implement measure to build underground cavern refuge for coal mining enterprises, to ensure the safe mining of coal mining. When coal mine accident happens, to the staff did not escape from the dangerous zone, mine refuge chamber can provide a closed and safe space for them, and may improve the chance of survival, and also may make up for the lack of time for the rescue workers. Mine refuge chamber can enhance the ability of safety protection in coal mine, and educe the losses which caused by accident, and give the second life of the hedge staff.This paper analyzes that the lack of disaster recover system construction in the China coal mine and coal mine accidents bring a great of harm to people, it reflects the urgency and importance of the construction of emergency for disaster prevention system: through the research on the development of the chamber of foreign disaster prevention and the new provisions of the our chamber, we can know the desige basis of cavern about China coal mine underground refuge; it analyzes that the high temperature, high pressure and poisonous gas have impact on mine refuge chamber in the gas explosion, and the theory of Grey system theory to optimize the chamber position, so it gives the best position to set; As Qianjiaying mine an example, according to design principles and methods of mine refuge chamber, to design a variety of mine refuge chambes. The research on Underground refuge chamber which play an important role in the development of building the emergency system to China’s coal mining enterprises.
