Mud pump is an important component to oil drilling equipments, it transports flushfluid like mud or water into bore in order to cool drill, to carry debris and to protect wall.The development of modern petroleum drilling technique requires higher and higherperformance gear less mud pump. At present the single function triple mud pump(referred to as triple pump) is widespread used on the oil drilling in domestic, which hasmany shortcomings, such as large volume, low reliability, low efficiency, short life ofthe functional unit and so on. Most mud pump parameters are used for many years fromthe foreign mud pump parameters, which just only could meet the basic requirements ofdrilling. This paper focuses reliability analysis under failure related of the high-pressureinjection mud pump system, as well as the main components of power’s mechanics andfatigue analysis, finally parameters optimization and the topological optimization,obtained some results of engineering application value.This thesis includes the following several parts:Firstly, through the research and analysis of the existing high-pressure injectionmud pump’s mechanism, the fault tree analysis uses the mud pump system for failureanalysis. Considering the correlation failure between parts, combined with the union andintersection operation of stochastic event, calculated the failure related reliability of mudpump with the reliability method, and proposed method of calculation of its reliability,and at the same time proposed the method of improving the reliability of mud pump.Secondly, by simplifying the mud pump structure, established the equation ofmotion and the analytic calculation model, to find out movement rules and stress of mudpump. Establish three-dimensional solid model of mud pump with3D mechanicalsoftware PRO/E, to achieve the dynamics simulation of the mud pump. In theWorkbench finite element software, the important components (crank, the ring gear, etc)of the power of mud pump were analyzed with mechanics simulation and fatigue, togain the reasons for failure of the various components and the need for improvement.Thirdly, optimizing the small gear axle parameter of the mud pump power with theoptimized software MATLAB, and with the finite element analysis software Workbenchfor connecting rod on topological optimization, then the optimization results waschecked, so as to improve the overall function of the mud pump, and the further proof that the optimization design method is feasible and effective.
