The Study On Bifidobacterium And Endotoxin Interaction

Endotoxins are components of cell walls of Gram-negative bacteria.Limulus amebocyte lysate test studies the detection of endotoxin on laboratory water including ultrapure water,distilled water and running water. The results show that endotoxin activity of1.92EU/Ml can be detected in running water,0.06EU/Ml in distilled water and less than0.03EU/Ml in ultrapure water. Artificial gastric juice has no effect on the endotoxin by detecting the activity of endotoxin which is added to the artificial gastric juice before and after respectively.To investigate the effect of endotoxin stimulation on the breed of bifidobacteria,different concentration of endotoxin are incubated with the medium of cultivating bacteria.The result shows that the activity of the endotoxin is less than25EU/ml has no significant influence on the growth of bifidobacterial and the activity of50EU/ml makes the number of bifidobacterial drops two orders of magnitude which are saturated.But using Oxford cup method does not test the antibacterial circle and it shows the ability of suppressing the bifidobacterial growth is weak. On the contrary,bifidobacterial can reduce the activity of endotoxin which downgrade to20-25EU/Ml.when bifidobacterial deal with the endotoxin which is the activity of less than25EU/Ml, the activity of the endotoxin will be completely weakening.
