In this thesis, based alloys Mg-4Al-1Zn in AZ series magnesium alloys were chosen. Compositing alloying and plastic deformation method, the effects on structure and mechanical properties with Silicon and Calcium addition were investigated, The influence of different extrusion temperature and ratios on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-4Al-1Zn-0.6Ca-0.6Si alloy extruded were discussed. The effects of the different contents of neodymium on the microstructures and extrusion mechanical properties of Mg-4Al-1Zn-0.6Ca-0.6Si alloy were studied. The effects of the different contents of neodymium on corrosion resistance of the magnesium alloy were Preliminary study. discussed. The results are as follows:Adding a certain content of Silicon and Calcium can significantly change the grain and improve mechanical properties. Alloy grain grows up After410℃X15h homogenization annealing. The tensile strength and yield strength has little scope to ascension, but the elongation greatly increases after homogenization treatment greatly increased. The organization has undergone dynamic recrystallization and grain was refined after extrusion. The grain grow with the extrusion temperature rise at the same extrusion ratio and the grain smaller with the extrusion ratio enlarge at the same extrusion temperature. The tensile strength and yield strength of this alloy extrude at360℃with an extrusion ratio of16:were375MPa,305MPa. The elongation of this alloy extrude at390℃with an extrusion ratio of16was18%.Addition neodymium element to Mg-4Al-1Zn-0.6Si-0.6Ca changed the phase composition, and the grain was refined. The cast and extruded alloys hardness values rose with the increase of neodymium. The tensile strength and yield strength of extruded Alloy with different content of neodymium showed a consistent pattern were increased after the first drop rise again. The elongation trend is not very obvious, the maximum elongation rate reached18%. The corrosion rate of the alloy droped with neodymium element increases, neodymium element can be played a passivation protective effect, and to improve the corrosion resistance of the alloy. The influences of elements on microstructure and mechanical property of Mg-4Al-1Zn magnasuim alloy were studied. The law of magnesium alloy grain refinement and performance changes were discussed, what supply the basis for the magnesium alloy with high performangce and anticorrosion.
