In this work, eight phosphonate coordination polymers with1–hydroxy–2–(3–pyridyl)ethylidene–1,1–diphosphonic acid,(C5H4N)CH2C(OH)(PO3H2)2(hpyedpH4) and N morpholinomethylphosphonic acid, H2O3PCH2N(CH2CH22O (H2L) as thephosphonate ligands, oxalate and1,4–benzenedicarboxylic acid as the second metal linkerhave been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Then they were structurallycharacterized by X ray single crystal diffraction, X ray powder diffraction, infraredspectroscopy and TG analysis. Luminescence properties of compounds38have been studied. The SPS of compounds4,5and7have been studied. The chemical constitution formulas arelisted as follow:(1) Mg(H2O)[(C5H5N)CH2C(OH)(PO3)(PO3H)](2) Fe(H2O)[(C5H5N)CH2C(OH)(PO3)(PO3H)](3) Cd[(C5H5N)CH2C(OH)(PO3)(PO3H)]·H2O(4) Fe1.5(H2O)[(C5H5N)CH2C(OH)(PO3)(PO3H)(C2O40.5](5) Co1.5(H2O)[(C5H5N)CH2C(OH)(PO3)(PO3H)(C2O40.5](6) Zn1.5(H2O)[(C5H5N)CH2C(OH)(PO3)(PO3H)(C2O40.5](7) Cu1.5[(C5H5N)CH2C(OH)(PO3)(PO3H)(C2O40.5](8) Cd2[L][Hbdc][bdc]Compounds17were synthesized by using1–hydroxy–2–(3–pyridyl)ethylidene–1,1–diphosphonic acid. Compounds13are1Dstructures through hydrogen bonds forming3D supramolecular structures and compounds1and2are isomorphic. Compounds47are2D structures through hydrogen bonds forming3Dsupramolecular structures and compounds46are isomorphic. By introduction of1,4–benzenedicarboxylic acid as a second organic ligand, compound8withN morpholinomethylphosphonic acid has been synthesized. Compound8is a3D frameworkstructure. Luminescence analyses show that compounds38will be candidate for luminescentmaterials. The SPS indicate compounds4,5and7show p–type semiconductor characteristic.
