Recently the concept of healthy living take root, people pay attention to it at unprecedented levels. However, there is no strong internal structure to support its weight, excessive or reciprocating movement leads to stretching of ligament and skin, it may cause breast ptosis or even injury if do not impose protection. Breast pain is common during exercise, occurring in up to56%of subjects in some survey. Therefore, increasingly female realize the importance of breast protection during exercise. On the basis of mass female breast measurement data, optimum experimental samples were picked up depended on breast types. The experiment obtained effect of displacement and pressure for sports bra comfort and revealed relationship between breast displacement and pressure. In order to provide theory and data for sports bra pattern design, the mathematical model associated with sports bra comfort, displacement and pressure was built by SPSS software statistical analysis and comfort subjective feedback.Sports bras on the market were divided into three catalogues-simple type, pressure type and composite type-through market research. Two bras were selected as samples in experiment.A questionnaire was conducted with200young female consumers in Shanghai for collecting data, it showed that objects preferred to do low-intensity and short-time exercise, most of them knew sports bra but few had experience to wear, and comfort, breast support, band design, fabric function were main problems existed during sports bra wearing. Sports bra had a bright prospect.33breast measurement data of200young female aged from18to25was obtained by tools. The result of factor analysis showed that7factors mainly affected female breast type. The proportion of cup size was divided by cup standard.5samples were selected as experimental subjects. Objective breast pressure and subjective comfort data of subjects wearing sports bra and fashion bra respectively was obtain by using ballonet pressure meter and visual analog scale. In comparison with pressure of different bra wearing conditions, there was little difference on cup but great difference on band and cradle. Pressure on sports bra was more even. C-cup subjects felt the most comfortable in sports bra.The subjects were filmed by VICON motion analyzer while they were walking or running on the treadmill in different breast support conditions. Running speed, breast support and type affecting breast3-D displacement were discussed. Subjective data was collected immediately after the treadmill running trials. The regression model associated with bra comfort, cup size, running speed and wearing condition was built by Logistic regression method for forecasting bra comfort. The relationship among comfort, displacement and pressure was analyzed by three-axis diagram after normalizing discomfort and displacement data. For fashion bra, pressure was dominant operation for comfort in low speed while displacement in high speed. For sports bra comfort, there was little difference between different running speed, displacement was the main factor to comfort. The achievements of this paper were a comfort forecast model and6academic papers, including a paper published in the Journal of Textile Research named A preliminary Study of the Effect between Breast Displacement and Bra Comfort. Study on the Comforts of Sports Bra by the Combination of Displacement and Pressure provided a novel and effective way to forecast sports bra comfort, made reference to production and evaluation of sports bra, gave a basis for sports bra optimization, and gave guide to consumers. Consequently, it will improve women sports experience and give more garments choices to female sports lovers.
