Black smoke is a product of incomplete combustion during the burning of industrialcoal, the main component-black carbon, whose particle size is very fine, it can suspendchronically in the air by the form of aggregates, the surface of particles is organic and oilymatter,so much toxic substances such as heavy metals attached to black carbon easily, human expose in such environment long-term can cause bronchitis, emphysema and otherills of respiratory system in different parts of various lesions. Black smoke can form a kindof smoke fog, which not only pollute the atmosphere but also seriously affected theproduction of human lives. The traditional dust control technology has a very lowefficiency because the oily hydrophobic surface of black carbon. High purification of blackcarbon has been the difficulties and weaknesses of dealing with black carbon. Therefore,Research of programs which have high purification of black carbon by using umbrellascrubber of patented experimental device is significantly for reducing smoke pollution. In the introduction, the paper describes the industrial coal-burning emissions, theformation of black smoke, atmospheric pollution and hazards; it also discusses the maintechnology of domestic purification of black smoke, it describes the technology andprinciple of following wet dust-removol which is used in the experiments in details, moreover, the nature、classification and function of surfactant are described. In the experiment, this paper puts forward a wet-removol controlling black smokefrom coal-burning kiln by adding sufactants, meanwhile, chemical and physical propertiesof black carbon are also made an in-depth study. Four absorption liquids were prepared bysurfactants of CTAB、SDBS、AEO-9and OP-10, respectively. The purification of blacksmoke from coal-burning ceramic kilns were carried out with an umbrella plates scrubber(Patent No: CN200420069314.9). The effects on removal efficiency of black carbon by theinlet dust concentration, inlet flue gas velocity and liquid-gas ratio were studied, and thenthe four kinds of factors were made orthogonal experiments. Experimental results showedthat the removal efficiency of BC were slightly affected by absorption liquid when Cin=2g·m-3, u=12m·s-1and L/G=0.2L·m-3, however, the absorption liquid of AEO-9had higherBC purifying property among the four absorption liquids, with which the removalefficiency of BC was about99.5%when its concentration was0.06mmol·L-1. Furthermore, when u=12m·s-1and L/G=0.2L·m-3,5g·m-3, the inlet dust concentration, was suitable tothe purification of BC, and the removal efficiencies of BC was nearly100%using the absorption liquid of AEO-9with less ΔP. The removal efficiencies of BC were greatlyaffected by the inlet-velocity. When Cin=2g·m-3and L/G=0.2L·m-3, removal efficienciesof BC could reach99%when u was1214m·s-1. Moreover, the suitable L/G in thoseexperiments was0.20.4L·m-3. In the four factors of orthogonal experiment, inlet flue gasvelocity produced the most affect on the removal efficiencies of BC, the inlet dustconcentration is the worst factor.
