The compression-type connector of underwater pipeline is a new type of pipe connection,It can be applied for underwater pipeline connection and repair, which has a significant sensefor the offshore oil resource development and transportation. The contents of this paper wasfrom The China National Offshore Oil Corporation’s "The research of non-welded pipeconnection technology" project, aiming at developing connectors of independent intellectualproperty right, including the connectors and special loading equipment. This paper focuses onthe compression-type connector of underwater pipeline, and for the working characteristics ofundersea oil and gas pipeline, some key technologies of underwater pipe connector werestudied, according to design requirements, a connector for8"undersea oil and gas pipelineswere developed.Based on the research and development of related national and international technology,this thesis introduced the working principle, the composition and structure of thecompression-type connector of underwater pipeline, and its sealing performance was deeplystudied. In virtue of APLD language and ANSYS optimization tools, by utilizing thezero-order optimization method for minimizing of the installation loading force of thestructure, the optimal connector size was obtained.According to that, the designing requirements, the designing parameters and workingconditions were analyzed, and then the overall scheme were given. And a further detaileddesign of the various key agencies for the Loading equipment was analyzed, and the strengthand stiffness of the main components were obtained to ensure its legitimacy and reliability.Meanwhile, the calculations of hydraulic system were completed.Finally, by loading tests and a series of sealing performance tests, the feasibility andreliability of loading equipment design and the verification of the sealing performance of thecompression-type connector of underwater pipeline were verified, and then the testing resultswere analyzed.
