| Basalt fiber (BF) and its reinforced composites were widely used in military, civilian and other fields for their excellent properties. Therefore, BF was knownas a new material in the twenty-first century, and its reinforced compositematerials was considered to be a very important topic.BF/PU-EP composites were prepared by epoxy resin (EP) as matrix, polyurethane as toughening agent, BF as reinforcement. The properties ofcomposites were investigated by electronic tensile machine, dielectric spectrumanalyzer, TGA, withstand voltage tester and high resistance meter. The resultsshowed that shear strength of the material reached the maximum of27.76kJ/m2,when doping amount of BF was2wt%. The thermal decomposition temperature(Td) and heat resistance of composites were effectively improved. Dielectricconstant (ε) and dielectric loss (tanδ) of composites increased and breakdownstrength reduced, with the increasing of doping amount of basalt fiber.BF was modified by concentrated nitric acid and silane coupling agent KH-560, respectively, surface morphology changes of BF unmodified and modifiedwere observed by SEM. EP composite materials which enhanced by basalt fibermodified by concentrated HNO3and KH-560were prepared, respectivily. Themechanical properties and thermal stability of composites were investigated byelectronic tensile machine and TGA. The results indicated that after surfacemodified, the interface microstructure and interlaminar force between BF andmatrix were improved obviously. Mechanical properties and thermal stability ofcomposites were also enhanced. |
