The electrorheological instrument is important equipment to research therheological properties of the electrorheological polishing liquid. This article is basedon the working principle of the ER cylindrical shear mode, targeted at the range ofvariation of the shear yield stress and apparent viscosity of the electrorheologicalpolishing solution, design and develop a small-scale, high precisionelectrorheological fluid the rheological properties test equipment. By calculatingļ¼Œthe specific parameters of each part of electrorheological Instrument requirements isgot. In accordance with the requirements of the parameters of the apparatus, areasonable choice for types and models of motors, linear platform, torque sensors,torque meter is done, and the final assembly and commissioning of the instrument iscompleted. The electrorheological instrument can measure the shear yield stress andchange of surface viscosity of electrorheological polishing liquid under differentconditions. Its excellent cost-effective and easy operation is of great significance tothe research of the rheological properties of electrorheological polishing liquid, andsuitable for a wide range of applications.In electrorheological polishing technology applications, the change of theelectrorheological polishing liquid surface viscosity and shear yield stress hasbecome one of the important issues of concern after the electric is applied. Manydomestic and foreign academics conducted a lot of research work onelectrorheological polishing liquid surface viscosity and shear yield stressmeasurement. According to the different external factors affect the rheologicalproperties of the electrorheological polishing liquid, different conclusions of theelectrorheological polishing liquid surface viscosity and its shear yield stress in different situations was received. This article uses the self-designedelectrorheological instrument to observe the change of electrorheological polishingfluid shear yield stress and apparent viscosity at the microstructure, and received adifferent abrasive, different size, with different concentrations of electrorheologicalpolishing fluid shear yield stress and surface viscosity changes. Provides animportant reference for the choice of the different precision work pieceelectrorheological polishing solution concentration and particle size.Electrorheological polishing is a new polishing technology, electrorheologicaleffect form a flexible polishing head in the surface of the tool head. It can polishsmall complex surface. This article research that the quality of the integrated toolelectrode in the polishing work is formed of a flexible polishing head and thepolishing pressure on the work piece surface.Obtained that in the actual polishingprocess, different formulations electrorheological polishing liquid in the type of gap,the type of voltage and different speeds that formed flexible polishing head and theimpact of polishing pressure on the work piece surfaceHow to get better surface roughness is an important issue for theelectrorheological polishing technology. This article relates to on homemadefive-axis polishing machine using the integrated tool electrode to do polishingexperiments on glass-ceramic which is a kind of new hard and brittle materials, get aconclusion of the most suitable abrasive formulations and best polished voltage,polishing speed, polishing gap when polishing glass-ceramic, and completeoptimization of process parameters on the electrorheological polishingglass-ceramic.
