With the development of modern industry and technology progress,new materials, especially graphitizing materials increase demand and usage. In production of carbon, graphitizing materials is a high quality stuff for electrolytic aluminium anode, electrolytic aluminium cathodes,and electrode paste etc. It is used for the steel-making carburizing agent in craft Adding graphitizing materials can reduce raw material cost, lower the energy consumption.But in today’s international market, graphitizing materials are very limited capacity and high price. Therefore, it is necessary to carry on the long-term research and improvement for the production equipment and technology of graphitized coke.Due to the discontinuous graphitizing furnace thermal efficiency is low. Most heat is used for heat storage and dissipation for furnace body,and the cooling time is very long,which makes the production cost high, not only causing a tremendous waste of energy, but also leading to the low output and unstable quality which satisfies the market need for high quality of graphite. In order to change this situation, it is one of the ways to solve these problems to achieve the continuous graphitize production,and the key to solve these problems basically has the following three points:1.The continuous material inlet and outlet;2.The principle of matching furnace construction and production process;3.The feasibility and safety of cooling system with high temperature.Based on the analysis of existing problems about graphitizing production technology, we master and solve the key problems of continuous graphitizing technology,successfully developed experimental furnace and medium-type continuous graphitizing furnace,and achieve the stable and continuous production of graphitized coke.Firstly,this paper describes the traditional Acheson graphitizing furnace, internal heat series connection graphitizing furnace and heat cascading electric calciner furnace, and the advantages and disadvantages of each furnace are analyzed and compared,then analyzed by graphite furnace continuous advantage.The paper also introduce the basic structure of the medium-sized continuous graphitizing furnace,analysising all electrical parameters collected in the industrial experiment, such as:current,voltage and power factor.Sum test problems, and propose the corresponding solutions.The paper key point is using ANSYS software to simulate the electromagnetic field within the furnace and analyze the simulation results, obtained within the furnace current density and magnetic field distribution.And so the structure of the furnace is improved by this theory accordingly. Finally,summarize the problem ahead and numerical simulation results,and puts forward to building large-scale graphitizing furnace which will be built of improvement and optimization proposals.
