5052aluminum alloy is one of the most widely used products of the5xxx series aluminum alloy. It has high strength, good fatigue resistance and weldability, good corrosion resistance to marine atmosphere and excellent low temperature stability, etc. Widely used in aircraft, vehicles, vessels, instruments, container and other products. The conventional produce technology is complicated and low efficiency, which limits the development and application of5052aluminum alloys seriously. The twin-roll casting process of aluminum alloy strip is one of the main research tasks in aluminum alloys industry; it possesses the advantages such as short process, low energy consumption, less investment,etc.According to the result of Numerical Simulation, the key technical parameters were found in the process of roll-casting, and finally strips of5052aluminum alloy were manufactured successfully according to the parameters. On this basis, analysis the microstructure of the strips, and the effect of electromagnetic fields added in the process of roll-casting. The main results are as followed:(1)The temperature field and flow field of the5052aluminum alloy melt in the cast-rolling zone under different casting speed were simulated by the ANSYS software, and the conclusion showed:With the casting speed rising, the temperatrue of cast-rolling zone rising obviously, the size of two-phase region and deformation zone decreased.(2)Assisted with the results of Numerical Simulation which were got above, pouring temperature was defined as690℃, as well as the speed of roll-casting were changed from1300mm/min to1500mm/min to find the best roll-casting speed. The conclusion was that qualified5052aluminum alloy strips can only be got at the speed rang of1350mm/min-1400mm/min.(3) The microstructure of5052aluminum alloy strips obtained in traditional roll-casting process was similar to the microstructure of casted alloy, which grew in a certain diraction with numerous dendrite.Besides, comparing to the microstructure of the middle of the strips,the microstructure of the side of strips is more fine. (4) The microstructure of the5052aluminum alloy stirps which were made in electromagnetic field and oscillation field were more fine than the stirps obtained in traditional roll-casting process.(5) Comparing to the stirps made in eletromagnetic field, the microstructure of the stirps which were made in oscillation field were more fine.
