With the rapid development of the industrial technology, the rolling mill equipment developed towards the direction of large-scale, high-speed and automatization. Especially,with the increase of rolling part’s weight and rolling speed, the improvement of production quality, the accidents which were caused by instantaneous torsional vibration took place very often. The torsional vibration of the main transmission system of the rolling mill is the main reason which causes equipment damage. The research on torsional vibration of the main transmission system can help us to know and understand the essence of vibration occurred, therefore,it can provide theoretical support for rolling mill of design and optimization.On the view of mechanical dynamics,and based on the theory research of torsional vibration to the transmission system, the paper made a theoretical analysis of the torsional vibration on F2-rolling mill main transmission.First, we review the background and current situation of dynamics research with clearance institution, introduce the dynamic model and solving methods to clearance institution,and establish the dynamic model of the gear system with clearance according to two states’kinematics model. Secondly, by abstracting the main drive system into lumped parameter system,the physical model was predigested into a system composed of rigid inertia components which had no distortion and stretch components which had no inertia. The torsional vibration dynamic model and mathematic model of the system were set up. The dynamic response and torque amplification factor(TAF) especially the main upper spindle and the connect spindle were obtained by using the Runge-Kutta of MATLAB. Finally, the influence of gear variable stiffness, gear error and damp ratio in the main drive system was considered.The research on the torsional vibration of the main transmission system is useful for the control of the torque vibration, the decrease of accident, the improvement of the stability. It has certain engineering guide significance and learned value.
