Odor pollutants in air pollution is an outstanding problem. Because of complex compositions of malodorous gas, the malodorous gas removal is a tough problem. In recent years, many researchs on the malodorous gas pollution control technology has been conducted, especially biotechnology without second pollution.This paper briefly introduces the characteristics and hazards of malodorous gas, and its treatment methods, and the transforming mechanism of the biological treatment technology and the extensively studied biological treatment methods are emphatically analyzed. This experiment takes the malodorous gas in a chemical sewage treatment plant as the research object, using biological trickling filter tower technology for malodorous gas treatment technology research, and mainly examines the sorts of biological trickling filter tower and microbial cultivation, the processing conditions of domestication and biofilm formation, the stable operation condition of biological trickling filter tower, and the processing condition of the city sewage as microbial nutrition. Through the experiments, the optimum process conditions can be chosen, and the reliable basic data for industrial applications technology are provided.The experiment results show that-the best filler are combination of strengthened biofilm ceramsite and half soft plastic packing; using microbial flora samples by regularly adding nutrient solution and hanging a dynamic culture film in the biological trickling filter tower the microbial flora samples regularly adding nutrient solution, through a dynamic culture film hanging in the biological trickling filter tower, the film hanging matched the requirements in about10days. After Completion of dynamic cultivated biofilm, the odor gas is filled to precede dynamic domesticated biofilm, as the biological trickling filter tower pressure dropped and malodorous gas removal rate stabilized, the dynamic domesticated biofilm completed in15days. After Completion of microbial domestication biofilm, the removal rate for H2S, CH3SH, and NH3is above90%, VOCs80%above. The fluctuation happens in12th after continuous operation, and H2S removal rate dropped below90%; by replacing the liquid circulation, H2S removal rate recovered over95%, and the rest of malodorous components removal rate don’t fluctuate greatly. The city sewage as nutrient solution after adding the appropriate nutrients can be used as microbial nutrition liquid, which not only reduces the operation cost, also uses or utilizes carbon, nitrogen source and trace elements in sewage, so the significance of this process is making use of waste circularly.
