Aluminum is a high strength, Corrosion-resistant, light weight materials. With thescientific and technological development, a variety of thin-walled, high-precision,complex solid, hollow aluminum profile are appearing. Aluminum has become thematerial of first choice in many areas (such as aviation, transportation, modern cars, electronics, weapons, ships, machinery manufacturing, etc.).6000series aluminumalloy is one of the hot spots of the current research and application, the research of6000aluminum alloy has great significance to the car body lightweight and the aluminumalloy application in automobile in china, it is in favor of promoting the development ofChina’s automobile industry. The hot compression experiment has been done by Gleele-1500thermal simulationtesting machine, the flow stress behavior of6016aluminum alloy at a deformationtemperature of280C~430C, strain rate of0.1/s-10/s was studied, and got the truestress and strain curve. Base on its stress-strain data, strain hardening exponent, strainrate sensitivity index and the material strength coefficient were fitted, the flow stressequation of6016aluminum alloy at different deformation temperatures and strain rateswere established. Observed the microstructure of the alloy by metallographic test, studied its grains size change, shape change, and whether there has been dynamicrecrystallization.Second, the extrusion process of the profile extrusion was simulated by thesoftware of Hyperxtrude, which is based on ALE calculation method. A series ofsimulation experiments were finished based on Orthogonal method, the alloy extrusionprocess parameters were optimized, which provided the basis for the warm formingnumerical simulation of6016aluminum and the formulation of warm forming processparameters.Obtained the conclusion by experiment and simulation studies:1.Temperature is a main factor that affect the flow stress of6016aluminum alloyin warm forming, in the same strain rate, corresponding to the same strain, the higherthe deformation temperature, the lower stress values..2.Strain rate has a significant impact on flow stress curve characteristics of6016aluminum alloy, under the same temperature, corresponding the same strain, flow stressincreases as the strain rate increase, this indicate that the alloy is a strain rate sensitive materials.3.In the process of extrusion, the temperature of profile increases with the initialtemperature of the bar and the extrusion speed; extrusion pressure decreases withinitial temperature of the bar, and increases with the extrusion speed.
