Thin coal seams in china are widely distributed, plow is the exploitation of thin and thick seam of coal mining machinery, the planer is a very important part of the plow systems, in the process of work by planer for the coal wall to random dynamic loads, very easy occurrence fatigue damage, especially when the planer encountered coal seams containing a hard stone and gangue, the planer force to increase dramatically, the role of high-frequency alternating stress, the planer will be the chipping heads, alloy head fall off, broken planer and so on failure phenomenon, this paper applied CAE analysis of finite element technique to planer. Application Hypermesh, ls-dyna software for cutting planer for machining of virtual cut simulation, simulation of different planer width and installation angle, get the force of the change rule. Simulation of load applied to finite element analysis of planer, application ANSYS workbench to static finite element analysis and impact analysis, get the stress distribution and impact performance of planer; Application designlife to multiple axis of stochastic force fatigue analysis, get the damage cloud distribution of the planer. In order to make stress by weld at least of the planer, the total length, width and thickness of alloy head of planer are optimized. The method is general in this paper, CAE analysis applying to mechanical products, improving the reliability of design. This paper work for the structure design and planer fatigue life estimation to provide the reference.
