Kinematic and force of sliding coal plow are analysised in the paper firstly. The main factors which influence the dynamic characteristics of sliding coal plow are confirmed.Longitudinal and transverse dynamic models are established. Vibration differential equations on the Lagrange Equation (Ⅱ) of a sliding coal plow in both directions are established with discrete body dynamic model method. Changing curves of plow head velocity and plow chain force at loose and tight side are obtained by means of under different working conditions.And speed,acceleration and force planing curves are obtained at transverse movement.In order to study the inherent frequency, the modal analysis on sprocket is analysised with the finite element analysis software at last.It is shown that the five natural frequencies influence sprockets largely. The design improve the coal plow reliability and service life.Its conclusion provides the basis for improving the coal plow design, selecting reasonably pre-tightening force,avoiding resonance and improving the dynamic performance of a sliding coal plow under the complicated condition.
