In this paper, Fe-Al composites are fabricated using laser-ignited self-propagatingreaction synthesis. Study on the change law of microstructure morphology andperformance of synthesized product by laser-ignited the reaction the synthesis with thechanging composition, and to explore the laser-igniting power and time of synthesizedproduct characteristics influence on the performance of microstructure The results showthat due to the rapid heating and reaction laser instantaneity characteristics, synthesizedproducts consist of intermediate phase, stable phase and the second phase bylaser-ignited self-propagating reaction synthesis; With the content of Cr reduce, thesecond phase AlCrFe2disappeared, then Cr dissolves into intermetallic compounds andrises simultaneously the refined grain function. Along with the increase of Al content inthe system of Fe-Al-Cr, surface morphology of the alloy occurs the transformation fromstripe to grid, honeycomb, cellular crystal. Honeycomb is advantageous in enhances thealloy degree of hardness and wear resistance, an average of hardness is683HV andwear rate is1.61mg/mm-2. Fe-Al doped tungsten concentrate powder synthesizedcomposites comprise intermediate phase Fe3Al (Cr), stability phase FeAl (Cr), thesecond phase AlCrFe2, elementary substance W and dispersion particles Al2O3bylaser-ignited self-propagating reaction synthesis. Doped tungsten concentrate powderchange strip of matrix to acicular structure, and this structure is taller and slenderer withthe increase of the content tungsten concentrate. The acicular structure is Cr and Wsegregation zone, this kind of microstructure’s change expand Cr region. W whichreduced into elementary substance is promoted the composites to format better densityand lower defects, is beneficial to enhancing the comprehensive properties of thecomposites.Adding the amount of tungsten concentrate powders from1%to3%, thecomprehensive properties of the composites are the best.
