The method of electrochemiluminescence is a new analyticaltechnique developed on the basis of the chemiluminescence andelectrochemical. Electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) is formed bythe combination of electrochemical and chemical reaction. Its basicprinciple can be drawn as the follows. Specific voltage or current willaccess to the test electrode. On the role of voltage or current, chemicalreactions of the electrode material are happened, and subsequentlyproduce the chemiluminescence. The luminous intensity could be capturedby a special instrument (photomultiplier tube). Thus the reactionalmaterial could be studied qualitatively or quantitatively. It is known asECL method. Because of the introduction of electrochemistry, chemical reactionscould solve the problems. It not only has the advantages of CL, but alsohas the advantage of the electrochemical. Therefore the ECL owns manyadvantages, such as simple operation, wide linear range, and highsensitivity. In this paper, bipyridine ruthenium was synthesized using grapheneoxide which was successfully prepared by Hummers method. The natureand appearance of sample was studied respectively. In the experiment, in order to get the optimal envinment of ECLabout oxidized graphene surface modified bipyridine ruthenium byoptimizing the naphthol and pH. By contrasting the ECL of the bareAu-Ru and the bare Au-GO-Ru, it has been researched to quenching theECL of bipyridine ruthenium with oxidized graphene.Using large surface area for graphene oxide, DNA have beenmodified into bipyridine ruthenium and graphene oxide have beenadsorption it. The detection limit of lysozyme was studied by the ECL. Because of the applications in DNA, biotechnology, lysozyme in theareas of ECL, the applications of electrochemiluminescence has beenexpanded in biological and medical aspects. Futhermore, the sensitivity ofECL which meets the progress of the analysis of modern sciencehas beenimproved. There is much room for improvement.
