Research Of Waterborne Metallic Imitation Coatings For Plastics

This study had polystyrene plastic by way of the target substrate, developed thewater-borne metallic imitation coatings with better adhesion on the PS substrate.This paper summarized the development status of water-borne plastic coating,cleared the problems and development trends as well, and pointed out the necessityand feasibility of the water-borne metallic imitation paint for plasticThe PUEA (polyurethane-epoxy-acrylic) is film materials in this article, and theformula is added adhesion promoter which is benefit for adhering coatings; and addedthe defoamer which can eliminate the bubble; the study choose aluminum paste aspigment which can be used to achieve luxurious style imitation metal decorative;added the wetting-dispersing agents with excellent stability for aluminum pigmentdispersion to improve dispersion stability and storage stability of paint; and waxemulsion which have good decentralized stability and directional arrangement canenhance and improve the water resistance of the coating.The study used orthogonal test method to evaluate the membrane material,pigments, additives, and other key components on the coating’s properties. The articlealso detects the effect of charge order, speed dispersion and plastic surface treatmentmethods on coating’s properties. Optimized formulation and preparation, coatingtechnology has been obtained.According to relevant standards, make a comprehensive test for coating and filmproperties, the result shows that the appearance of coating, stability, film adhesion,hiding power, water resistance, gloss and other major performance is good; scanningelectron microscopy morphology of the coating shows that the structured surface ofthe substrate aluminum pigments orientation.The preparation of water-based metallic imitation paint for polystyrene plasticssurface coating, including polystyrene (PS), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS)and high impact polystyrene (HIPS). Can not only meet environmental requirementswith excellent performance, but also made of plastic to meet the pursuit of the metaltexture.
