The Study On The Way And The Equipment Of Growing Sapphire

Sapphire has great photoelectric and mechanical properties,it is widely usedon the lasers and some other optical components.With the development of theLED industry, as the main substrate material, sapphire is used more and morewidely, and the demand is increasing all the time. As the LED technologydeveloping, to solve the problem of growing the sapphire of big size and highquality has became a very important part in the sapphire industry.This paper mainly introduces the properties and applications of sapphire,several ways of growing sapphire and their advantages and disadvantages, thedesign and performance analysis of the equipment which is used for growingsapphire in the way of SAPMAC. In the process of designing and manufacturingof the equipment, NX8.0software is used for the3d solid modeling, assembling,simulation and programming of the numerical control machining,it makes theprocess more simple and intuitive, the coupling between the computer and theprocessing center or the carving machine is more reasonable. The parts finallyhave a simple manufacturing process, but a high precision. There is also adiscussion with the problems that happened in the actual production, and finallygetting some ways of solving them make all the part of the equipment better. Inthe chapter of equipment manufacturing, the principle of arranging processes inthe traditional manufacturing ways is introduced by some typical examples,meanwhile the ways of non-traditional manufacturing are also introduced in thispart,just like the wire cutting machine, machining center, engraving machine.The advantages and disadvantages of the way of programming between theautomatic programming and manual programming are compared, and some basicprogramming words are also introduced by the typical program segment. Thedefects of the sapphire which is growing by the way of SAPMAC is analysisedand discussed, and finally get a complete process flow of growing sapphire by SAPMAC.
