Nobel nanoparticles have wide use in bio medical, sensor solar cells and so on due to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR). Au and Ag nanorods have two SPR modes. As the aspect ratio of nanorods can affect the longitudinal SPR mode, controlling the aspect ratio of nanorods become very important. The SPR mode of Au nanorods changes with the voltage between nanorods and medium. It is necessary to make clear the how Ag nanorods influence the light transmittance for the design of solar cells.In this script, the mechanism of seed mediated method for Au nanorods, Ag nanorod and Au-Ag nanorods preparation is under discussion. The conductivity of Au nanorod gel solution and the transmittance of Ag nanoparticle array are analyzed here. The results are enumerated as follows:(1) In the seed mediated method, high concentration of electrolyte leads to Au slender nanorods, while high concentration of prefer to affect both radius and length. Surfactant with long carbon chan can form nanorods even in Low concentration of Br". Plenty Br-lead to nanorods even if the concentration of surfactant is under critical micelle concentration. (2) The reticular fibers are formed around Ag nanorods when there is a current circuit in the gel solution. Due to the reticular fibers, the conductivity of the aqueous solution is enhanced by47%-56%.(3) The Ag half-cylinder array has a great transmittance of light with wavelength varied from500nm-1100nm. These half-cylinder particles can also couple the light with wavelength lower than500nm into the substrate.
