Due to its active chemical properties, furfural is used to synthesize a variety of chemicalproducts through the chemical reaction, and it widely used pesticides, pharmaceuticals,petrochemical, food additives, casting and other production areas. The raw material forproducing furfural is the scraps from corn cobs, corn stalks, wheat straw, rice straw, ricehulls, cottonseed hulls, peanut shells and sugar cane bagasse and other agriculturalproducts. The residual waste after extracting furfural is the furfural residue. Furfuralresidue be placed on the outside will pollute the atmosphere, the soil and the rivers of itshigh salt content and acidic. But the furfural residue contains a lot of cellulose,hemicellulose and lignin, so its recycling value is higher. Furfural production enterprisesmainly use corn cob as a raw material, and add acid to obtained furfural by hydrolyzing. Itis estimated that it is discharged12-15t waste for producing every ton of furfural, andmillions of tons of waste discharged each year. The most simple and effective way is usefurfural residue as a boiler fuel to reduce and recycle the waste, which not only can savecoal resources, and can basically eliminate waste. But with characteristics such as smallerparticle size, low acid gas and black high, the dust discharged by a boiler combusting thefurfural residue is hardly to be removed. Therefore, the second pollution of dust can not beefficiently removed if it only use of wet dust collector or dry dust collector. In this thesis, anew type of furfural residue boiler precipitator was designed. First, the dust can condenseinto the water through the spray and achieve to capture the tiny dust, especially the particlesize of5μm. Second, the dust particles are settled into the water under the function ofrotational flow four times. Finally the clean gas is discharged through the dehydrator, whilethe alkaline circulating water can help to remove the acid gas from the flue gas. Theremoval rate of smoke and dust can highly reach to98percent if the spray is5m3/h and thepH of circulating water is10. The dust removal efficiency is much higher than the otherboiler precipitator.
