Technology of the sheet forming is very important during the modernmanufacturing industry,sheet forming technology has been widely used inautomotive,construction,medical,aerospace and other fields due to the highaccuracy,the simple process and easy to control.With the increasing level of sociallife,the requirements of the standard of living is also growing rapidly.Modern sheetmetal forming must be more simple,strive to improve production efficiency,reducescrap on the basis of a multifunctional.Stamping as traditional sheet metal forming technology has been in use eversince.Due to the limitations of traditional rigid blank process,forming characteristics ofthe target forming member can not be fully considered, Resulting in the stampingprocess sheet flow nonuniformity, easy to result in local thickening wrinkling, localtensile broken defects.Discrete gap blankholding process is a new technology combined with multi-pointforming ideas and existing traditional blank holding process.Discrete holding blockreplace the traditional rigid blank holder, we can assemble the blank block according tothe target shape. This process not only suppress wrinkling, cracking and other defectsduring the forming process, we also can reducing the costs, shorten the device debugcycle, reduce the human consumption and improve the utilization of materials.The main research content and conclusions:1Mechanical analysis of the rectangular box stamping based on discrete gapholdingRectangular box pieces has been a typical example of the sheet metal formingprocess research, we can divide the rectangular box pieces into different formingregion according to the geometric analysis. We do some analysis of the state of stress and strain in the deformation process. Thus proposed the adjustment of the differentposition of the pressure side gap, The blank shaped rectangular box pieces of discretegap results forming defects were analyzed and compared.2Discrete gap holding theory of FEA and digital modelOn the basis of the sheet metal forming theory, we discuss FEA computationaltheory, dynamic explicit material elastoplastic constitutive model and relative equationderivation, the time integral and so on. We create a digital model based on the FEAnumerical simulation software, meanwhile we deal with some problems about cellselection, boundary conditions, definition of contact and friction.3Numerical simulation studies of discrete gap blankholder processWe discuss the discrete gap blankholder process through the analyasis of FEAnumerical model. Verify discrete gap blankholder can achieve the rigid blankrole.Using rectangular box discrete blankholder process verify that discrete gapblankholder can improve the stamping depth.Analysing the thickness distribution,wrinkling and springback defects of forming result.4Different process parameters on the forming resultsTo explore the impact of the plate shape of the forming results by changing theshape size, to do research on different material from the sheet metal forming results,Different coefficient of friction on the forming result, different punching speed onforming results.5Application of discrete gap blankholder to complex pieces formingDo research on car fender parts, oil pan, as well as non-rule stamping formingbased on discrete gap blankholder. Further broaden the range of application of discretegap blankholder, this process proved more powerful broad prospects.
