The rapid development of the aerospace industry is increasingly urgent demandfor polymer materials. However, due to the influence of the space environment, forthe various aspects of performance of the polymer material has demandingrequirements. Polyimide material as a high heat resistance, and also has high chemicalstability, high mechanical properties, high radiation resistance with a high degree ofprocessability performance, there is much room for applications in the aerospaceindustry. But the resistivity of the polyimide is as high as1016/square. Electrons inthe material is not easy to move. The accumulated charge is difficult to spread. Itwill form an electrostatic. Electrostatic is extremely dangerous in the field ofaerospace. Aviation equipment is easy to damage to electronic components with theseelectrostatic area. So we need to modify traditional polyimide.Graphene is a hot area of scientific research since it been found. And it becomepopular in the world’s high-tech field. Graphene has a special two-dimensionalstructure, so that electrons can move very fast on its surface. So it gets a highelectrical conductivity. Graphene have outstanding performance in thermal, electrical, mechanical, far higher than other inorganic materials. These are precisely what somepolymers need. So the graphene/polymer composite materials are very hot in variousresearch institutions. The electrical properties of graphene is what polyimide material lacks in the fieldof aerospace applications. So we mix graphene into polymide to improve itsconductivity. We use4,4’-ODA and PMDA to prepare polyimide. This type ofpolyimide is a common polyimide. The polymerization method is simple and easy. One big problem of mixing graphene into polyimide is how to dispersed evenly.Graphene dispersion affect the performance of the polyimide the graphene/polyimidecomposite films. First we use different way to mix graphene into polyimide. Then weuse XRD, thermal analysis, mechanical performance analysis, scanning electronmicroscopy, and resistivity testing to characterize the films to find the best method. We use situ polymerization to prepare the graphene/polyimide composite films with different content of graphene. And we test the electrical, mechanical, and thermalperformance. By the characterization of these tests can show the effect ofmix-in-graphene and the amount.
