Polyoxometalate(POM), as a kind of anionic oxoclusters of early transition metals in their highest oxidation states, can be functionalized by organic ligands constructing novle hybrid compounds. Organic ligand derivatived polyoxometalates exhibit a wide variety of structures and properties for the versatility of organic ligands. Thus they develop at an unusually fast pace in areas such as medicine, catalysis and materials science.In this paper, we use lysine and proline functionalized y-octamolybdate and glycline,β-alanine functionalized Anderson polyoxomolybdates as initial POM tectons i.e. Na4[Mo8026(pro)2].22H20, K2Na[AsIIIMo6O21(O2CCH2NH3)3]-6H2O-0.5Cl and K(HOOCCH2CH2NH3)[SeIVMo6O21(O2CCH2CH2NH3)3]-4.5H2O. They can further react with metal ions to construct new hybrid species, and be characterized by elemental analysis, IR and UV-vis spectroscopy, TG analysis, powder X-ray diffraction and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Also, we studied their antitumor activities on human tumor cells. This dissertation is divided into two parts.1. We present six new species constructed from amino acid functionalized POM tectons and transiton metal cations, Cu(II), Zn(II), Co(II), in mild conditions. The hybrid compounds1,2and3that constructed from proline functionalized POM and transiton metal cations are isostructural. While we got two kinds of hybrid compounds by lysline functionalized POM and transiton metal cations:compound4is a2D framework containing infinite one-dimensional [Mo8O27]n6-chain; compound5and6are OD architectures. Futhermore, the study of their antitumor activities on human tumor cells shows Cu(II)-, Zn(II)-directed amino acid functionalized POMs exhibit the higher activities on the inhibition of cell proliferation of human tumor cell line MCF-7and HepG2. Co-directed POMs exhibit inhibition selectivity to these two cell lines.2. While using K2Na[AsIIIMo6O21(O2CCH2NH3)3]-6H2O-0.5Cl and K(HOOCCH2CH2NH3)[SeIVMo6O21(02CCH2CH2NH3)3]-4.5H2O as initial POM tectons, transiton metal cations Co(II) and Ni(II) as linkers, we got three new species in mild conditions. The hybrid compounds7and8that constructed from glycline and B-alanine functionalized Anderson POM and transiton metal cations are isostructural. In addition, all three compounds are OD architectures. Finally, we characterized the IR, UV-vis spectroscopy and thermal stability of the three new compounds.
