In this paper, Tin (â…£) Sulfide, a layered CdI2-type nanostructured compound and its graphene nanocomposite have been synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method. Study has been conducted to characterize their structure, morphology, and lithium storage property as a negative electrode. Meanwhile, different growth condition has been investigated by changing the reaction temperature and time. As observed from the electron microscopy images, under the same growth condition, the Tin (â…£) Sulfide has an average lateral size of50-60nm and are homogenously anchored on graphene nanosheets. It should be emphasized that, without the addition of graphene oxide during the hydrothermal process, the resulting product comprised agglomerated Tin (â…£)Sulfide nanotablets, which confirms the separation role of graphene in the formation of dispersive Tin (â…£) Sulfide nanotablets. Lithium storage property of these two kinds of materials has been studied, and it reveals enhanced lithium storage properties with high reversible capacities and excellent cycling stability.
