The anion that could improve the environment quality and protect humanhealth was one of the important indicators to measure the cleanliness of air. Inrecent years, new materials, which could release anions, had been researchedwidely, due to serious anion consumption in the populous areas. Tourmaline wasa silicate mineral, which is composed of silica tetrahedron, coordinationoctahedral and boron oxygen of triangles and contains sodium, magnesium, iron, manganese, aluminum, lithium and many other kinds of metal ions. It was one ofpromising material in the field of pollution prevention due to its abundantreserves and enduringly releasing anion property. At present, on the development and application of tourmaline, theresearchers at home and abroad mainly concentrated on controlling the anionreleasing efficiency by doping excitation. However, there were little reportsabout the anions excitation by external conditions. This paper researched theinfluence factors of anions releasing of tourmaline, preparedenvironment-friendly porous ceramic and glazed tile that can release anions, andanalyzed property of anion releasing.Influence factors of air anions concentration was analyzed by researchingrelationship between air anion concentration and area, time, weather. As acomparison, the influence factors of anions releasing of tourmaline were furtheranalyzed. The properties of porous ceramic and glazed tile that can releaseanions were analyzed. The sample composition was analyzed by XRD. Theanion releasing value of the sample was measured by the anion tester. Themechanical property was tested by universal material compressive strength tester. The results were listed as following:First, it was proved that air anion concentration was affected by someenvironmental factors, for example, temperature, humidity, airflow, water flow, air suspension, and so on, besides anthropogenic factor. Air and water flow werethe most important factors. The temperature and humidity were proportional to the air anion concentration. Air suspensions such as dust, automobile tail gaswere inverse proportional to air anion concentration as they greatly consumedthe anions.Second, it was proved that tourmaline anions release efficiency was affectedby some environmental factors, for example, temperature, humidity, air contactarea, powder thickness. Air contact area was the most important. Larger aircontact area suggested higher anions releasing efficiency with the same volumepowder. The tourmaline anions release efficiency raised by raising temperature,at constant temperature. When temperature fluctuated, the tourmaline anionsrelease efficiency also raised obviously. Humidity was proportional to thetourmaline anions release efficiency. Thickness of the powder had no significanteffect on anions release efficiency, when it greater than0.5cm. The effectiveworking range of tourmaline releasing anions was within a short distance. Wecould detect that the tourmaline released anions effectively only through testwithin20cm. Therefore, tourmaline should be placed in a well-ventilatedlocation so that the anion could be used effectively in time.Third, porous ceramics, which have a characteristic of high porosity withthe same volume, were prepared by doping the tourmaline powder. Theefficiency of tourmaline anions releasing was enhanced, when contact areabetween the tourmaline powder and air was increased. It was proved that theanion-releasing amount of1cm3porous ceramics sample was900, more thanvalues of the same volume entity ceramic. This sample saved80%of resources.Fourth, anion glazed tiles were prepared by doping the tourmaline powderto glaze. It was found by orthogonal analysis that glazing thickness was the mostimportant. When glazing is performed four times, sintered temperature is600℃,tourmaline content is10%, anion-releasing amount of tiles was the largest, it was400/cm3.The results showed that the efficiency of tourmaline anions releasing wasaffected by ambient temperature, humidity, airflow, contact area between thetourmaline powder and air, and the effect of contact area was the most prominent.Ceramic ware in which tourmaline was mixed, could be applied in closedenvironment with high humidity and airflow to raise efficiently the anionconcentration of environment.
