China is a large country noted for its dense population and vast territory. There arealtogether56ethnic groups in China. They create rich, distinctive features, varied shapes oftraditional culture in the development of long time history. And become the indivisibleimportant part of Chinese culture. Almost all ethnic groups had tattoo history. Each ethnicgroup has body decoration, as same as their clothing, it reflect the costumes characteristics ofthe ethnic group. It can be said that the decoration express a variety of cultural spirit morethan clothing.The topic explores the construction of ethnic costume from a gender perspective andputs gender in the same social environment. To explore the similarities and differences ofbody decoration cultural activities of women in a patriarchal society and this differencesymbols convey meaning. Gender theory analysis the relationship between male and femaleļ¼Œto found the causes and nature of social relations and social system. The ethnic costumesreflect the development of ethnic group history, social outlook and changes, at the same timeconstraint by gender relations. Therefore, from the apparel culture on the performance of therelations between the sexes will help us to understand more clearly about the more uniqueethnic costumes cultural phenomenon.Minority body decoration customs as the main clues in this topic, significantly differentphysical decorative feature as the Research subject under the theory of gender, choosesouthwest ethnic groups representative body decoration technique---body painting, tattoos(face-tattooed), body deformation---three ways.First, the paper analyzes the typical body decoration features. Then, from the socialgender perspective, understand the impact of the cultural construction of body decoration dueto the different gender roles. Try to depth study the impact of the female gender perspectiveand the performance of decoration under the gender system.
