Triazinyl amino stilbene type fluorescent whitening agents as a kind of fluorescent dye are widely used in many industry fields such as textile, paper manufacture, detergent, plastic and so on, because of their special whitening effect that it can whitening light yellow matrix but not damage it, and which general methods of whitening and bluing can not compare with it. Stilbene fluorescent whitening agents are the most important of all the types of fluorescent whitening agents, the variety and yield accounting for60%and80%of the total, respectively. They play an important role in national economy in many industries. The domestic study of this type fluorescent whitening agents laid strong emphasis on technical amelioration and industrialization. The kind and top-grade product is skimp, the type is all-purpose and lack market competitive strength.The introduction first describes the whitening mechanism of fluorescent whitening agents, the details of the classification, application, latest research progress and the future trend of the fluorescent whitening agent. Finally, the purpose and significance of this study is introduced.Considering the problems that the current triazinyl amino stilbene type fluorescent whitening agents lack of variety, inferior effect, function singleness and the limit of serviceable range existed in domestic. We mainly research the synthesis, performance and application of amides, long-chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salts, and long-chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salts mixed fluorescent whitening agents, to direction research and development productions of high-performance, multipurpose and multifunction. Enrich and improve the theories and methods of the triazinyl amino stilbene type fluorescent whitening agents. The mainly contents and result as follows:(1) Due to the current fluorescent whitening agents are toxic and lack of variety, twelve kinds of new DSD acid-triazine structure containing acylamino fluorescent whitening agents were synthesized through a three-step condensation reaction of cyanuric chloride, DSD acid and amino compounds. The obtained compounds were characterized by the analysis of the IR spectrum, UV spectrum and fluorescence emission spectrum, and whiteness was tested through dyeing filter paper. The results show that compounds have good UV absorbent and fluorescence emission properties and have the obvious whitening effect on the filter paper in different densities,0.1%dye density is the best.(2) Because of the traditional fluorescent whitening agents have single function, three kinds of new DSD acid-triazine fluorescent whitening agents containing long-chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salts were synthesized through a condensation reaction of DSD acid, cyanuric chloride and octadecyl dimethyl tertiary amine and ami no compounds. Their structures were characterized, the photophysical and chemical properties, the dyeing performance were studied and surface tension was tested. The results show that because of the sterically hindered, the transisomer have better UV absorbent than cisisomer and have higher fluorescence emission properties; Dying filter paper and cottons in different densities, the results show that the3kinds of new fluorescent whitening agents have the obvious whitening effect on the filter paper and cotton, especially whitening effect on the cotton is better. Through the test of the surface-active, we know that they have higher surface activity. It may be applied on developing the surface activity fluorescent material aspects, its application needs further study.(3) In recent years, the reports and researches are few on mixed fluorescent whitening agents in domestic and abroad. We synthesized ten kinds of containing long-chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salts mixed fluorescent whitening agents by a condensation reaction of DSD acid, cyanuric chloride, amino compounds and the cetyl/octadecyl dimethyl tertiary amine (percentage composition7:3). To explored the UV absorbents and fluorescence emission properties of target products and to test the dying performance of the filter paper and cotton. The result proves that the compounds have very good UV absorbent and fluorescence emission properties and have the obvious whitening effect on the filter paper and cotton. For the cheap materials and high yield, they suitable for the large-scale industry production and they will be have strong market competitive power. A series of DSD acid-triazine single and mixed type fluorescent whitening agents were synthesized in this paper and most of them have good UV absorbent and fluorescence emission properties, fill in the blank of domestic and abroad. Provide the technology and raw materials support to the development of fluorescent whitening agents industry and its downstream industries at home and abroad.
