Welded pipe is steel pipe which is formed by welding with curling steel plate orstrip. Since entering twenty-first Century, with the development of welding technologyand testing technology, welded pipe replace the seamless pipe in more and more fields.Loop which plays an important role in the continuous operation is a essential equipmentin welded pipe production line, and also have an important influence on the quality ofwelded pipe. But the horizontal spiral loop is the most novel loop used in pipeproduction line. It is a new type of storage mode and the device has the advantages ofsimple structure and convenient operation. More and more domestic manufacturersbegan to use it.The spiral path is the most important component in a spiral loop. Its design iscomplex, so we must consider the deformation of steel strip. If the design is notreasonable, it will make the steel strip produced severe deformation in the loop in orderto affect pipe processing quality and cause unnecessary economic losses.First we explain the filling material principle to illustrate the law of the strip in thespiral loop and introduce the type of spiral loop in the market. In the third chapter wedescribes in detail the basic design the parameters of spiral loop. Such as: maximumstorage volume, the necessary conditions, the length which needs to reverse and pinchforce calculation. After the analysis of the spiral loop principle, we analysis andcalculated theoretically the related design parameters of the spiral path. For example:the spiral path of the radius and helix angle. And we set the spiral path of roller inhorizontal and vertical angle. Then we use SOLIDWORKS software for3D modelingof spiral path.Finally, we use the finite element software ANSYS to analysis the spiral path in thestrip. And we get the area in which the most obvious displacement and the mostconcentrated stress turn up. Then the roller horizontal angle and vertical angle can beadjusted to change the trajectory of the strip in the spiral path. And we carry out thefinite element analysis again to make the internal stress and deformation of the stripmore reasonable and uniform. So we can find how to adjust the angle of the roller inorder to achieve the optimization of the trend of steel strip. The last design of the spiral path is based on experience and the basic theory ofcomputation. This paper introduces how to provide adjustment pf the spiral path of rollangle.
