The pyrite in the southern Sichuan mined resulted in substantial tailings waste,causing a lot of waste of resources and environmental pollution. In this thesis pyritetailing in the southern SICHUAN as the main raw material preparation refractories, inorder to achieve the recycling of waste resources to create value, reduceenvironmental pollution.In this thesis, the pyrite tailing sample that is taken from the southern SichuanXingwen County have some test about XRD, XRF, TG, DTA, plasticity test. From thetheoretical analysis possibility of pyrite tailings prepare SiO2-Al2O3refractories andon this basis, add to quartz and bauxite, clay refractories, semi-silica refractories,high-alumina refractory materials were prepared, tested these refractory major hightemperature performance and normal performance, experimental results shows thatpyrite tailing can be used as the main raw material preparation SiO2-Al2O3refractories,refractory its performance in line with the relevant standards. The main thesis toobtain the knowledge and results are as follows:(1) It is conclude the main mineral in pyrite tailing composed of kaolin, amoderate plasticity (plasticity index I=14.6).(2) All the ingredients sifted and through a80mesh sieve, add58wt%waterforming under60MPa, the embryo has good strength, the product after sintering color,bubbles evenly, at room temperature compressive strength is stable and accord withordinary refractory clay products dimensional requirements.(3) Pyrite tailing were prepared by calcination to clinker, and Doped quartz sandor bauxite clinker adjust the percentage of Al2O3reach to30%to48%in productprepare clay refractory and tested the refractory samples main performancerefractoriness, load softening temperature and the volume change rate of reheating etc, refractoriness is16401730℃, load softening temperature is12951420℃, heavyfiring rate of volume change is-0.33-0.82%.(4) Its performance can accord with the national clay refractories performancerequirements. In order to achieve maximum utilization of pyrite tailing and reducedenergy consumption, all use of pyrite tailings and part of tailings by calcining asaggregate prepared clay refractory products. When calcined tailings≥70%, theprepared clay refractory conventional performance accord with national standards offire clay Preparation of clay refractories optimum sintering system is1400±5℃insulation3h.(5) The prepared clay refractories with pyrite tailing performance is lower, theproducts that Industrial production application areas is narrow, low added value. Thispaper was prepared by incorporating quartz sand semi-siliceous refractory products,the incorporation of bauxite clinker production of high alumina refractory products.Preparation of semi-siliceous refractory products to achieve the physical and chemicalproperties of refractory materials alabaster physical and chemical standards, and withthe increased incorporation of quartz sand, performance has improved significantly.Semi-refractories cold crushing strength is44.355.2MPa, refractoriness (±5℃) is16501660℃,0.2MPa load softening temperature (±5℃) is12951420℃,1450℃,2hreheating volume change rate is0.12to0.72%. Preparation of semi-siliceousrefractory optimum sintering system is1400±5℃insulation3h.(6) Because the poor quality bauxite and high impurity content, preparation ofhigh alumina refractory in the best1425±5℃for4h firing that performance does notaccord with the national standard of high alumina refractories physicochemical,However, its performance is compared with prepared clay, semi-physical andchemical properties of silica refractories better. Through this paper, experimentalstudy, pyrite tailing can produce a wider range of applications with higher addedvalue refractories.
