Derrick structure between the components, by connecting the assembled into the wholestructure. The connection mode is generally divided into welding connection, pin Saddle-Earplate connection and bolt connection. The connection mode and connection performancedirectly affects the structure of work properties. According to the connection joints ofdifferent stiffness, connection is divided into rigid connection, semi-rigid connection andarticulated connection three types. Usually, finite element analysis for the oil derrick structure, the derrick structure connected between the considered as rigid form calculation. It is does notmatch the actual situation for many years of derrick in oil field, The calculation willinevitably bring about error results. This paper consider bolt connection node as semi-rigidconnection between column and transverse reinforcement, to study of semi rigid connectionof TJ2-41tower derrick structure mechanical properties. The article first introduces the tower’s structure, types, characteristics and applications, research methods and force performance of semi-rigid beam-column connections.Itresearches the influence on the non-linear performance of the connection owing to flexible ofbeam end node, derives the specific expression of the form of plane and space steel framesemi-rigid beam element’s element stiffness matrix. It else derives theoretical formulas of thebolt connected nodes’s initial stiffness by component method. Comparative analysis show thatits calculation results with the corresponding finite element results is in good agreement. Itsimulates semi-rigid nodes by bidirectional zero-length variable stiffness coil spring, introduces the specific implementation methods and procedures, and thus creates a finiteelement model of the semi-rigid connection derrick. in the end, it studies the semi-rigid node’sinfluence on the internal force, displacement, structural stability of dynamic characteristicsand ultimate bearing capacity of tower derrick structure.
