Silica is the main impurity in the alumina production process and must be removed by desilication. The desilication product is sodium aluminosilicate, be called DSP.There are thirty-three percent of alumina, thirty-three percent of silica, twenty percent of sodium monoxide and fourteen of water in the sodium aluminosilicate. Apartment silica and water, other components are useful. So sodium aluminosilicate is generally returned to the alumina production process in order to recycle the alumina and sodium oxide. But because the lower content of useful components, it causes some unfavorable effects, make the high consume and high product cost. So a lot of works shoud be done to efficiently seperate and utilize the DSP.Based on domestic and international studies in this area, two points are researched in this article. At first, industry test was carried out to separate DSP from the alumina production process. Second, how to use DSP for multipurpose is researched, including to produce type-A zeolite useing the DSP and recycle sodium from it. In addition, other ways also be analyzed. As can be seen from the study, with common pressure desilication and increaseing the temperature of first desilication step, the DSP can be removeded from the main process. In the production of typr-A ziolite, some cristal problems was dissolved, and type-A ziolite was made with the calcium exchange capacity over 300mg/g.That is in accordance with the standard Q/Chalco A021-2004. In addition, the optimized condition and parameters were obtained. With enhanced process de-sodium removement of 80 percent of the total sodium oxide can be reached. These will be of great reference value for effective DSP use, decreaseing the alumina product cost and raw material consumption, promoting sinter process competitiveness.
