Water supply pipelines system is an important part of the water supply system. The task of water supply pipelines is transporting the domestic water and industrial water. However, the existing of man-made and natural threats have made the water supply pipelines face with various insecurity factors, and as a natural threat, earthquake poses the greatest threat to water supply pipelines system. Because the water supply pipelines face a huge risk caused by earthquake, it is necessary to study the risk control to minimize the risk caused by earthquake and protect the function of water supply pipelines. This research proposes two strategies on seismic risk control of water supply pipelines, one is to reduce the vulnerability of water supply pipelines, the other is to construct the earthquake emergency response system, improve its emergency response capabilities.First of all, the elements constituted seismic risk of water supply pipelines system have been analyzed. Two strategies on seismic risk control of water supply pipelines have been proposed, one is to reduce the vulnerability of water supply pipelines, the other is to construct the earthquake emergency response system, improve its emergency response capabilities.Secondly, the seismic vulnerability assessment model of water supply pipeline based on catastrophe series has been proposed. Combined with the weight value of the pipelines which were calculated through fuzzy clustering analysis, it can get the seismic vulnerability index of the water supply pipelines system. According to the assessment result, seismic vulnerability reduction program design method based on orthogonal has been proposed and through case study, the reasonable and feasible of this method has been proved. At last, the seismic emergency response capacity evaluation index system has been constructed. The weight of each index has been calculated by using AHP, and the result has been modified by using entropy techniques. In the case study, the seismic emergency capacity of the water supply pipelines system has been quantitatively evaluated and through analyzing the result, some suggestions have been proposed.
