Wood is a renewable resource, is the first choice for green building materials.Wood frame construction, health and comfort ,environmental protection and energy saving, beautiful and diverse, has always been loved by the people.China has a long history of ancient wooden structure, the development of modern technology is slow, especially the development of large-scale construction of glued laminated wood(Glulam Wood) has only just begun. Broke through the restrictions of the wood structure’s size and length, the glulam wood construction can build large public facilities, commercial buildings, stadiums, bridges, etc, greatly expanding the using function and artistic features of wood frame construction. This meets the requirements of modern social and economic development.The glulam components for experiment in this article are made of North American Pseudotsuga menziesii,to explore the mechanical properties of glulam wood.This paper introduces the principles of glulam wood, the production process, commonly used structure and some problem should be paid attention to in the process of manufacture. Bending test of laminated wood beams of small size, cross-sectional stress and strain was measured by using a static strain gauge to study the deformation process of cross-section by force.Test for the standard wood beams in accordance with standard for wood test, determines the glulam wood structure’s strength and bending modulus of elasticity.With analysis software ANSYS,we establish finite element modeling of beam, Comparison of experimental results to anlysis force-deformation of beams.By the test of the large volume of beams of different sizes, the glulam beams of different finger, carbon fiber reinforced glulam beams, analysis the main factors that impact bending properties of glulam beams,provide a reference for engineering applications of glulam wood components.In addition, the common used node for laminated wood structure has alsobeen studied,to analysis the connections of glulam wood.By experiment study, we can determine that glulam wood structure has good performance, high strength,strong ability to resist deformation.Normal section curvature in accordance with plane-section assumption, destruction form by the force contains bending failure and bending shear failure.Carbon fiber reinforced glulam beams, the bearing capacity has improved significantly. Node conected with steel components has good bearing capacity, strong ability to absorb energy, good seismic performance.
