Wind energy source, a renewable green energy, received worldwide attention inrecent years. Wind energy industry has been continuously developing and expanding.Wind turbine bearing is one of the most important component in wind generator systemand directly affects the service life of the wind power machine. However, the testingmethod of bearing is relatively backward and now there is no automatic testingequipment. So, a equipment what should be quickly and accurately discovering thecracks in the bearing is badly needed.Ultrasonic Imaging is a new technique used in NDT (None-Destructive Testing),which has been widely applied in the testing of industry products.This paper will research on the Ultrasonic Imaging applied for the testing of cracksin the bearings used in wind power generation. Furthermore, we design a set ofultrasonic imaging system for testing the cracks in the wind turbine bearing.In this paper, we will research on the method which fit for the ultrasonic testing onthe wind turbine bearing,and we will further explain the collectivity design of theequipment design on the wind turbine bearing and the basic functions, characteristics,design plan, working principles and relevant problems of mechanical system, ultrasonictesting system, software system.The main characteristic of the system is the combination of ultrasonic testing,software control and mechanical scanning, multichannel working mode and advancedultrasonic imaging technique make it possible to show the image of testing result as realtime mode, in the meanwhile, store the testing parameters and testing results.The accuracy and feasibility of the ultrasonic testing mothod we choose and theultrasonic testing system design proposal has been proved by relevant experiments.Results are shown at the end of this paper.
