Analysis On The Logic Of Structural And Detailing System Of Irregular-Formed Building Skins

The thesis of this paper is the logic of structural and detailing system ofirregular-formed building skins.The ways in which this text argues depend on two clues. Firstly, I seek for thetheoretical basis on which the form of the irregular-formed buildings is emergedthrough the elaboration of relational concepts and theories. Secondly, depending onthe analysis of many cases, the paper summarizes the logic of structural and detailingsystem hidden in the form, and elaborates it by category.In the first part which seeks for the theoretical basis, the paper elaborates on theconcepts of irregular-formed building, building skin and the logic of structural anddetailing system, and makes a theory summary in two aspects: science and philosophy,practice. The theories include nonlinear science, philosophy of Gilles Deleuze,emergence theory, matter philosophy of Manuel Delanda, structural ecologies,informal and phylogenesis.The second part which summarizes the logic includes the logic of structure andthe logic of detailing system. The paper divides the structural logic of irregular-formed building skins into three kinds: bionic, form algorithm and mechanicalanalysis. Based on the geometry of skins, the paper studies the logic of the detailingsystem in category.Finally, the author gives the conclusion and the outlooks for the trends ofarchitectures in the future.
