Voltage source converter based HVDC (VSC-HVDC) technology developmentso far only twenty-one years since the introduction of the, is a new DC transmissiontechnology; its main features is the use of the full-controlled power electronic devicesconsisting of voltage source converter (VSC) to replace the traditional HVDCthyristor-based control during the current half-source converter. VSC-HVDCtechnology highlights the full-controlled power electronic devices, voltage sourceconverter and pulse width modulation (PWM) three technical features solve many ofthe traditional direct current transmission technology inherent bottlenecks. Currently,energy shortage and environmental pollution is increasingly serious, China’sinvestment in wind power continues to expand, VSC-HVDC technology features idealfor wind power and other fields.This article describes the VSC-HVDC system works, VSC-HVDC system withstation-level control and harmonic analysis and filter design for the study, detailedanalysis of the principles of it, and mathematical and simulation model;UsingPSCAD/EMTDC software, established in the computer test platform VSC-HVDCsystem simulation models and wind farm through this system and network simulationmodel, to verify the decoupling control system and self-regulation recovery, and onthe wind farm and grid double-ended fault isolation.
