The fanwing is a new type of composite wing,and Its basic layout is the arrangement in thefixed-wing wing leading edge of the cross-flow fan. By the rotation of the fan, the fanwing can obtainlift and thrust.The fanwing flowfield is very complex. With the fan rotation, there will form a lowpressure vortex structure inside the wing, the flowfield has extraordinary unsteady characteristics.The simulation on the unsteady characteristics of the fanwing flowfield is a challenging and importantsubject in the field of Fanwing Aerodynamics. In this thesis, a numerical simulation method for theunsteady fanwing flowfield has been established by solving the N-S equations. By this method, thecharacteristics of the fanwing flowfield in the typical condition are investigated. Also, furtherinvestigations are conducted to analysis parameters of the fanwing flowfield. The major research workin the thesis is as follows:(1)The domestic and overseas research results on the flowfield and aerodynamic characteristicsof fanwing are introduced briefly, and it is pointed out that the CFD method is necessary for theresearch of the fanwing flowfield and aerodynamic characteristics.(2)A numerical method and computer code suitable for solving the flowfield and aerodynamicscharacteristics of the fanwing have been developed.(3)The simulation of the fanwing flowfield is performed and the calculated results are comparedwith available computed results and experimental data to demonstrate the validation of the method.Then, with the emphasis on the pressure and velocity, the characteristics of the fanwing flowfield arecalculated and analyzed. Besides, preliminary investigation is conducted on the vortex.(4)The parameter analysis on the fanwing flowfield is performed. Based on the aboveinvestigation, some meaningful results are obtained.
