In this paper, the new style of spring elastic wheel was the main research object. The principle ofwheel structure was demonstrated by theory of elastic mechanics and finite element analysis, themechanical peroformance of spring elastic wheel and tire was also studied. Excute the ride comfortperformance analysis of Off-Road vehicle, which matches the new style of spring elastic wheel andcommon rubber-tire respectively. Special condition simulations were also made to Off-Road vehiclematching the new style of spring elastic wheel.At first, the structure and basic principle of spring elastic wheel were illustrated, the structure ofspring elastic wheel was simplified, excute the elastic mechanics parameters analysis on thesimplified model. Variable separation approach was used to deduce the accurate stress function,according to St. Venant principle,simplified boundary conditions properly and transformed boundaryconditions into trigonometric series. Finally, we obtained the stress, strain and displacement of themodel. We can draw the conclusion that circle model withstanding symmetric forces in radialdirection was turner into a smooth and continuous oval, with arbitrary load, the spring elastic wheelcan roll smoothly.After then, including the geometric nonlinearity due to large deformation nonlinearity, thenon-linear properties of tire material, the nonlinear boundary conditions from tire-pavement,three-dimensional nonlinear FEA model of spring elastic wheel and radial tire were established byusing solid element,rod elements and contact element. The nonlinear mechanical properties of theelastomer were modeled by the Mooney-Rivilin model. With non-linear analysis of ANSYS program,analyze the relationship between load and deformation, the deformation,the stress distribution, theshape of contact area and contact pressure distribution of spring elastic wheel and tire under the fourcases: vertical load condition, lateral load condition, longitudinal load condition, calculate the radial,lateral and longitudinal stiffness of spring elastic wheel and tire and conduct contrast analysis.Theemphasis is on the stress, deformation of different parts of wheel and and contact stress distribution,the deformation regulation is consistent with the conclusion drew from elastic mechanics analysis, sothe accuracy of the model is proved. These conclusions in this thesis could be used as a guide forstructural design and optimization of wheel.At last, bulit the vehicle model in the software ADAMS/Car, according to the standard methodsof vehicle riding comfort, executed the simulations of the whole vehicle matching spring elastic wheel and radial tire under random input running test and pulse input running test. The result showed thatthe Off-Road vehicle matching the spring elastic wheel and radial tire met the comfortabilityrequirements. Considering the complex condition of roads that the vehicle traveled, special conditionsimulations were also made to Off-Road vehicle matching the new style of spring elastic wheel. Theresults showed that the vehicle had the ability to go through vertical step, pothole and grade. Summingup the above, built the system dynamic emulate model of the Off-Road vehicle matching springelastic wheel and made a preliminary simulation in this paper, provieding reference for furtherimprovement of early prototype of the Off-Road vehicle matching spring elastic wheel.
