At present, with the fast development of science and technology, researches on morphingaircrafts have received much attention from more and more research institutions and researchers in theworld. There are many relative research plans in both America and Europe. Recently, researches onmorphing aircrafts in china have just been launched, and a lot of researchers have taken part in thestudy of morphing aircrafts. As a new kind of aircraft, morphing aircraft can change their shapeaccording the different flight conditions and multi-missions to maintain the optimal flight status. Inthis paper, several aspects of the problems of morphing aircrafts are investigated, including computingthe aerodynamic data, establishing the model of the system, analyzing the transition stability anddesigning the flight control system.Firstly, using the Digital DATCOM software to compute the aerodynamic data of the plane witha vary wing span. Using the interpolation and curve-fit algorithm, the function relation inaerodynamic data and variation of the span has been solved.Next, the dynamic model of the morphing aircraft is constructed, the longitudinal linear model isdeveloped using the small perturbation theory. Then, based on the slow vary system theory, the transition stability of the morphing plane duringthe flight is analyzed, the rate of changing the span is developed. At last, the longitudinal flight control law of the morphing plane is designed. The individualcontrollers of the six configurations are done, the integrated controllers of the morphing plane isdesigned. Finally, the controllers which meet the dynamic performance and stability of the system areproved in the non-linear system of the aircraft.
