Since morphing aircraft can consider the flight performance of different flight tasks, it has greatresearch value. When there is deformation in morphing aircraft, the changes of geometry and massdistribution lead to big changes in aerodynamic characteristics, the center of mass and the moment ofinertia, the traditional modeling method of aircraft can’t guarantee the accuracy of result. Beforeresearching the flight dynamic problem of morphing aircraft, we should solve the problem that how tomodel morphing aircraft accurately. In this paper, we take the morphing aircraft with folding wing as the research object and show theadvantage of morphing aircraft from the take-off performance, landing performance and penetrationperformance. The flight dynamic model is established based on Multi-body dynamics. We calculatethe aerodynamic characteristic with vortex lattice. Based on the line-model of the morphing aircraft, the change of its stability and maneuverability are studied, they can guide the control law design andthe adjustments on aircraft at conceptual designing phase, it is emphasized that we consider thedynamic process when studying the stability of morphing aircraft. Finally we have a research on theproblem of control law design preliminarily. Based onH2H mixed control theory, the controllerfor fixed configuration is designed using the LMI toolbox in MATLAB. When the aircraft ismorphing, the inner loop is designed to keep the velocity and height constant using linear quadraticoptimal control theory, the outer loop is designed to guarantee the robust performance based onH adaptive control theory, the outer loop controller is also calculated using LMI toolbox, the simulationresult shows that the control gets very good effect and has engineering value.
