Advanced composite materials are largely used in the aircraft manufacturing industry for theirsuperior physical and chemical properties. With the increase in demand for composite materials,composite materials shop scheduling problems are becoming increasingly prominent. Especially theproduction efficiency of composite assembly plant, as a last resort of the production of compositematerials, directly impacts on timely delivery of composite parts.Different from the general assembly of mechanical product, the composite assembly shows moredifficulty for organization of production by vehicles, unsteadiness supply of material, frock andlimited amount of personnel, and multiple operating modes. In this paper, integrated planning andscheduling optimization system of composite materials production assembly plant was put forwardaccording to advanced manufacturing execution systems theory, strategy of integrated optimization ofproduction planning and scheduling, and practice of the assembly plant to improve the assemblyplant feasibility, feedback speed and resource utilization. To be better prepared for the workshopproduction plan, the plant’s production capacity was taken into account as the main reference forplanning. On the one hand, the rule-based staffing was used to seek reasonable arrangements of theoperating mode of the task for various parts; On the other hand, a combination of heuristics and tabusearch algorithm was put forward to optimize the assembly process scheduling. Then algorithm wasverified through the use of example of actual production, and the relative conclusion was summarized.Finally, according to the production management features of composite assembly plant, theplanning and scheduling system was completed including detail design, development and tests of thesystem, and the preliminary implementing in actual production of composite assembly plant.
