The high-formwork support system is used widely nowadays, but the collapseaccidents occur frequently and bring about serious casualties and economic loss duringthe concrete construction. The reliability analysis and research of formwork supportduring construction process is very important in theory and practice. Furthermore, theseanalysis and researches provide important technical guarantee to reduce collapseaccidents and conduct safety construction.Formwork support safety management is an important step during the constructionprocess and has great influence on its security. In this paper, some safety managementknowledge is summarized. And the proposal that real-time monitoring should bestrengthened during the construction process of formwork support is put forward.Otherwise, in the human factors literature, in order to insure the safety construction thequality of constructors should be improved. Also with the help of governmentintensifying supervision and checks improving the security system can help to reducecollapse accidents.In this paper, the main factors of accidents are summarized with some typical caseswhich happened between2000and2010and. It found that the incomplete design andcomputation, unreasonable erection and poor quality materials devote to failure offormwork support. And these provide substantial foundation to computation andanalysis of formwork support reliability based on structural strength. The fieldmonitoring data of the main parameters which have influence on formwork supportreliability are analyzed through MATLAB. The statistical parameters provide datainformation to reliability analysis.Three dimensions finite element model is developed by finite element software ANSYS and the uncertainty factors including material property, geometric parameter,initial defect, computation model which affect the reliability are parameterized. Theultimate bearing capacity of formwork support is selected as the failure criteria and theinfluence of initial defect and construction live load on formwork support reliability isstudied through the probability design module. The result shows that failure probabilityincreases with the development of initial defect and varies with different distributions.The research achievement of the paper plays an important role in conducting thedesign and construction management of formwork support.
