Application Research Of Aesthetic Appreciation Of Caisson Ceiling

The paper takes the modern practicality of caisson ceiling and the inheritance andinnovation as the research objective, and carries out the research on the differenthistoric periods of caisson ceilings and the comparison between caisson ceiling andwestern dome.First, the “Two Transformations” in the development process of caisson ceilingare derived through the analysis and thinking on the origin and the evolution anddevelopment of caisson ceiling. The “Two Transformations” are the transformationfrom the simple structure decoration to the complicated one and the transformationfrom the functionality to the decoration. Meanwhile, four evolution and developmentstages of caisson ceiling have been broadened, adding the germination stage in Pre-QinPeriod and the contemporary declining stage.On the other hand, the reasonable and comprehensive application of caissonceiling noumenon and decoration contents has been derived through the analysis on thedecoration tactics of caisson ceiling in different historic periods such as constitutionform, color, decorative patterns, etc., which plays the positive role in promoting theinnovation and development of the modern environment art design.Second, taking Xuguang Pavilion at Pule Temple in Chengde, China and Chapelof the Holy Shroud in Italy as examples, the horizontal comparison is made betweenthe Chinese caisson ceiling and the western dome, with the objective of emphasizingthe necessity of the individuality and the inheritance and innovation of caisson ceilingdecoration. On this basis, the innovative development model of caisson ceiling is put forwardand the design procedures of inheritance and innovation are provided as follows: onone hand, under the premise of inheriting the basic constitution form of traditionalcaisson ceiling, namely, the framework, the modern decorative materials (such as stone,mirror glass, organic glass, translucent film and wallpaper) shall be banded togetherwith various facility systems of the building by the style of comprehensive use orsingle representation, then the comprehensive treatment shall be conducted; on theother hand, a certain degree of addition and subtraction processing can be conductedon the structure of caisson ceiling in accordance with the actual situation of differentbuildings and the definition of different characteristics of indoor space to follow-up thereasonable, systematic and integrate connection of modern decorative materials,various facility systems in buildings and caisson ceiling.
