Concrete is one of the most important material of the structural engineering, thesafety of structure is directly related to the quality of the concrete. However, in theprocess of the construction of the concrete structure, due to the construction qualitycontrol is lax, design defects, structural ageing or natural disasters, concrete structure inthe use process inevitably exist such as cracks, holes, honeycomb, abrasion and erosiondamage, endanger the safety of the whole structure, it has become a worldwide problemwhich is paid attention.In this paper, the principle of concrete nondestructive testing methods aresystematically discussed, analysised and researched. Based on this, the virtualinstrument technology, the digital signal processing technology and concretenondestructive testing technology are combined together, the nondestructive testingsystem on concrete is researched and developed. Field application show that the systemis stable,accurate and fully meet the standard test applications.The NDT field background knowledge is introduced, including the present fieldsituation of the concrete nondestructive testing in foreign and domestic, and theinsufficiency, the virtual instrument application in non-destructive detection and imageprogramming software LabVIEW is introduced in detail; focuses on the nondestructivetesting of concrete impact echo method principle, the installation of sensors, signalacquisition and processing, defect recognition in the concrete structure; programmed theecho signal acquisition and concrete structure thickness measurement, the concretestructure quality identification, and the system test plan is given. Designed and selectedthe hardware which relates to the system, and analysised the characteristics and modelsof the sensor. Testing system is ready to obtain information on the basis of work, andidentified the position of the sensor. Using the signal FFT analysis for the impact echosignal processing, spectrum is extracted for the defect recognition. The module isdesigned for the data collection, the data management, the thickness of concrete test andthe concrete structure quality judgment and a file management.
